Profile![]() Barrie LanderBarrie Lander, award winning master jeweller started his career in 1977 at Chris Gogos Jewellers, Perth. He has spent the majority of his career working behind the scenes for other leading Perth jewellers, producing exquisite pieces of hand crafted jewellery, and couldn’t begin to tell you how many engagement/wedding rings he has created for that all-important moment in couples' lives.Barrie's working history has given him the opportunity to experience all facets of the jewellery trade by fulfilling the roles of jeweller, apprentice trainer, retail and workshop manager to now owning his own boutique jewellery store. Barrie is inspired by the raw materials he works with. He has spent the past 5 years working in the pearling paradise of Broome creating unique jewellery with Keshi pearls (seedless pearls) and is inspired by their unique and individual shape which dictates its completed design. In 2004 Barrie won the BAMF Jewellery Award competing against other renowned jewellers from Paspaley, Kailis and Linneys to name a few. When asked what inspires him, he said “Creating jewellery in consultation with a client through to its completion can be self rewarding, however the true reward is customer satisfaction, and in some cases the deep personal meaning this may have for someone”Barrie and Kerrie Lander uprooted their kids and followed their dream in 2006. A sea change which has brought a highly talented, passionate and down to earth character to town. Did you know? 24ct gold was originally made into jewellery, however not be worn by the wearer, as gold was a sign of wealth/asset which was to be kept in a safe place, so they had replicas made out of a lesser carat 9ct/18ct to be worn instead.
